Today, March 2nd marks the 49th year anniversary of the historic 100 point game by Wilt “The Stilt” Chamberlain. The game took place in my backyard of Hershey, PA vs. the New York Knicks. The final score of the game was 167-149, with the Warriors edging out the Knicks with the comand performance of Chamberlain. They can really score back then! The closest player to attempt to break this record goes to Kobe Bryant with 81 versus the Toronto Raptors in 2006. And rounding out the top five is Chamberlain AGAIN with 73 (two times), David Thompson with 73, and the Great Michael Jordan with 69 versus the Boston Celtics.
Here’s a break down of the AMAZING performance:
Q1: 23 pts.
Q2: 18 pts.
Q3: 28 pts.
Q4: 31 pts.
= 100 points.
Notes: There is no video footage of this game.
The total rebounds for both teams is 7. PHI- 3, NY- 4
I hope this record never gets broken! EVER!
